Born in 2006 Andy is a bundle of curiosity. She loves to ask questions and try new things. She is quiet, but you can tell from watching her that her mind constantly absorbing the world around her. BioAndy and her brothers José and Carlos were admitted into Por Los Niños in June of 2009. They were appointed to the village by an order from a court judge. They were living with their mother who has 3 additional children that are older. She is a single mother and was unable to support all 6 children. They were all homeless and living in a borrowed adobe house without a roof or floor. They were all sharing one bed and had no electricity or sanitary facilities. There were drinking water from a faucet behind the house. When she joined us at Por Los Niños, she was 2 ½ years old and weighed 22 pounds. She was malnourished and suffered from parasites and chronic diarrhea. Andy has gained health and energy. She is now a picture of health and a good friend to many of the other children in her house. |
