Our Goal is to raise self-sufficient Honduran Christian Leaders!

They do not plead the
cause...of the orphan, that
they may prosper; And they
do not defend the rights of
the poor.
Jeremiah 5:28
Our founding USA fathers
recognized this Biblical
truth, that all people are
endowed by our Creator
with rights. If we are to be
righteous, not only do we
need to recognize the rights
of the poor, but we need to
be a defender of their rights.

Work Trips:
Work teams perform a wide variety of tasks at the village, from painting and
construction to landscaping and other needs. If you have a talent or skill, we
can put you to work serving the children. A work team consists of 12
members, and you can form your own group of 12, or contact our office to
join a team that we are putting together. The expenses of participating on a
work team cost $1,500 dollars per person, and the 8-10 day trips occur in
March, June, September, and November. Work team members take supplies
from the USA as part of their checked baggage, and workers are encouraged
to contact our office to find out if there are other needs that their local
church can also fill. Getting children's classes, ladies' classes, teen groups,
and other members involved in donating household supplies is a great way to
get the whole church in on the mission experience. Contact us today about
an upcoming trip and a list of needed supplies. (See contact page)

Although we had supported Por Los Niños financially for many
years, the first work trip I went on was in February of 2006. It is
amazing what a difference it is to see with your own eyes what you
have been hearing about and seeing pictures of. It becomes
impossible to not recognize that there are real children. The same
kind of children as we have in our homes. Children with the same
need for love and nurture as our own children. Children that will
take the same amount of time to grow up and mature as our
children. Children that need a stable loving home with mature
loving Christian parents to raise and care for them. When I saw it
with my own eyes, I could not ignore the commitment they need
from me, and many others.
It was very nice to see Honduras. Yes, the people are lovely.
The country is lush and green, and who doesn’t like exploring a
new and different place. However, it is seeing and knowing the
good work that is being done, and recognizing the small, but
important part I can play in that work that is the most striking when
I go there.
Since the first trip in 2006, I have returned again in 2007 with
some others from Hernando, and I will be returning again in 2008
with a group. I hope and pray that the work we are able to do will
be of value to the caring for the children. But more importantly,
taking others to see the work, encouraging the house parents and
staff, and supporting the work of Family Life Missions and Por
Los Niños, and coming home to tell others about the work is the
most important part of these trips. We have made a commitment to
the children, and the work is “Por Los Niños” (For the Children).
