"If you want to be perfect,
go, sell your possessions
and give to the poor, and
you will have treasure in
heaven. Then come, follow
me.". Matthew 19:21
Part of following Christ is
setting nothing before Him.
In this passage, the rich
young man was sad
because he did not own his
possessions, but rather, his
possessions owned him.

We now have a plan for our transitional living program for the
young people of Por Los Niños. In this new program, we are
working on converting one of our existing houses into a
transitional home for our young people who have completed high
school. After graduation, students will have up to four years to
transit into the community from the village. During this four years,
they will begin working and/or go to college. While working,
residents will pay for their own transportation, clothing, and rent.
The rent money that is paid will be set aside and returned to each
of them as they leave. This money will assist them in the costs of
renting their own places in the community and having some back-
up savings.
The new house (PLN 4) is under construction! The foundation is
down, the walls are up, and construction could be done as soon
as September. This means we are beginning to search for our
next set of house parents. We are all very excited about the new
house because with it comes more children! On my trip to
Honduras in April, Les was approached by one of our teachers
who knew of three children whose mother ran off and abandoned
them. Their aunt took them in to keep them off the streets, but
she can’t keep them for long. If you know of a church or individual
who would be interested in sponsoring a child or helping support
FLM please have them contact us today. Please pray for this work
and its support as we continue to grow.
