Born June 27, 2002
Erlin Martinez
Erlin and his sister, Grisselda, came to us in February 2006.  Their family lived in the mountains in a one
room structure.  There was no running water, no kitchen and no bathroom.  They cooked on a fire outside
the house.  They got their water from a stream.  There were 6 children living at the home.  Their father is
blind and not able to work.  Their mother does not work either.  She stays at home to take care of her
husband and younger children.  The older sisters, ages 11 and 14, work in the coffee field picking coffee
beans.  That is the only income the family has.  Erlin came to PLN at 3 years old.  He had parasites and
lacked social development.

Today, Erlin has adapted to life at PLN.  He runs and plays with the other kids.  He is always following the
house dads around.  Erlin is a precious little boy who is happy to be united with his sisters at PLN.
