Carlos Johel Osorio Calix - Bio
Carlos entered Por Los Niños, Cottage 3 on June 17, 2009 with an order of ingression by youth and family
court judge. He is 1 year old. Carlos’s older sister, Andy Celeste Osorio Calix, and older brother, José
Armando Escobar Osorio were also ingressed the same day. Andy is 2 years old and José is 4 years old.
These children have 3 older siblings who live with their mother. They are 9, 10 and 11 years old.
Their mother is Julia Maria Osorio Calix. She is 31 years old. Their father is Mario Escobar Moncada. He has
abandoned this family. Julia and the children are homeless and living in a borrowed adobe house. This
house has a tile roof and dirt floor. The seven family members share one bed. They have no electricity or
sanitary facilities. Their only water source is a faucet behind the house.
Carlos was born in Catacamas, Olancho. When he came to Por Los Niños he weighed 16 pounds. He was
malnourished and had parasites and a respiratory infection.
