Belkis Padilla
We recently took in two sisters, Enia and Belkis in to PLN III. There are a total of 10 siblings in their family.
Belkis is the older of the two siblings. At first, she would not talk to anyone except Jeannell and Elda. She
is slowly warming up to people. She began to call Edgar “Popee” after being at PLN a few days. Jeannell
says that Belkis now talks non-stop and is very smart. She is already picking up on small English words
and she is learning life at PLN with ease.
So far, she seems to be a picky eater but we hope that will change. Belkis also had parasites and was
malnourished when she first arrived at PLN. She is taking medication and is doing well.
The house parents and the other children are adjusting to Belkis and Enia with no problems.
