Born March 12, 1991
Angel Corea
Angel was referred to PLN by a mission’s clinic in Catacamas. At age four he weighed only 19 pounds.
He could walk but, he could not talk. Suffering from grade III malnutrition, pellagra, anemia and rickets,
Angel was in critical condition and not expected to live. Because of parasites and severe malnutrition
Angel had a prolapse of his intestines. When this prolapse first occurred doctors in Catacamas would not
treat him. We were told that Angel would die. Finally, a doctor in Juticalpa did surgery to replace his
intestines. It was said at that time that only through love and prayer would Angel be brought through this.
During this recovery time Angel needed a personal care taker to feed him every two hours. Today, Angel
has the heart of a child. He likes to run and play but, he must stay out of the sun because he suffers from
skin cancer. It truly can be said that Angel would not be alive today if he did not have loving sponsors.
